Eric B. Swartz

Eric is a peer-reviewed, AV-rated attorney and key member of the Jones & Swartz civil litigation team. He is involved in a full spectrum of complex cases ranging from serious personal injury, to anti-trust issues, to employment matters, to complex business litigation, to contract reviews. Eric has successfully litigated a wide variety of cases for clients of the law firm, in Boise and beyond. Eric represents individuals and businesses of all sizes. Eric also offers business consulting, consultation in legal strategies, and contract preparation, contract reviews and implementation assistance.

Practice

Eric's legal practice focuses on general civil litigation, with an emphasis on complex commercial cases, personal injury, employment matters, contract disputes, land use and real estate litigation, probate litigation and professional negligence.  Eric believes that educating his clients is as important as showing a judge or jury why his client's case is a winner.  His philosophy has resulted in numerous satisfied clients.  In June 2013, Eric received the highest possible peer-review rating and is recognized by his colleagues as "meeting very high criteria of general ethical standards."  After years of handling legal battles in the court room involving business contracts, insurance disputes, employment matters, and other contract-based matters, Eric started offering business consulting and legal strategy services to his clients.  Eric now provides these services as well as contract prepapration and consulting assistance to many of his corporate clients -  large and small.    

Education

Eric graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies in 1996. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa, College of Law, in 2001. Also in 2001, Eric obtained the Certificate of Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law from the National Energy-Environment Law and Policy Institute as well as the Certificate of Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Tulsa, College of Law.

Eric was a member of the Energy Law Journal from 1999-2001 and served as the journal’s Executive Articles Editor from 2000-2001. He also served as an Editor of the American Bar Association’s Year-in-Review, Section on Environment, Energy, Resources Law for the 1999-2001 publications.

Professional Standing & Affiliations

Eric became a member of the Idaho State Bar in 2001. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Idaho and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a member of the American Bar Association.
