Jenny Crane Grunke

Jenny has extensive experience and knowledge of litigation with an emphasis in family law, government and business law issues. She focuses her practice on guiding and counseling her clients through divorce, child custody, contracts and leases. She also handles cases involving alcohol beverages licensing and legislation.


In addition to family law and alcohol beverage law, Jenny also maintains a general civil litigation practice with an emphasis on consumer protection. Jenny provides legal guidance in small estate planning and administrative law. Prior to joining Jones & Swartz, Jenny managed her own solo practice for over five years. Jenny served as a law clerk to Nez Perce County District Judge Ronald Schilling and District Judge Jeff Brudie. Jenny practiced in the public sector as a Nez Perce County Deputy Prosecutor and an Idaho State Deputy Attorney General. As a Deputy Attorney General for eight years, Jenny represented the Idaho State Police, including the Bureau of Alcohol Beverage Control, the Racing Commission and the Peace Officers Standards and Training Board. In private practice she was an associate at Hall Farley Oberrecht and Blanton.


Jenny graduated Boise State University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Psychology in 1996, and went on to graduate from the University of Idaho of Law in 2000. Jenny was a member of the Negotiation Competition Team and a representative to the Student Bar Association.

Professional Standing & Affiliations

Jenny is a member of the Idaho State Bar and she is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Idaho and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Family Law Section and Taxation, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Idaho State Bar. She currently serves as treasurer to the Idaho Attorneys for Civil Education and is a member of the Idaho Women Lawyers. Jenny volunteers as a judge in Idaho High School Mock Trial and is a member of the Richard C. Fields Inn of Courts. In 2013, Jenny had an article published The Advocate, the official publication of the Idaho State Bar, entitled, Idaho's Alcohol Beverage Laws: Past, Present and Future.
